You just got back from an amazing experience at American Shave House, your haircut looks great! Lets keep that ball rolling..
1. Use the Right Styling Products
Different cuts need different products:
Pomade or wax: Great for slick styles (e.g., comb-overs, pompadours). (Reuzel in shop)
Clay or matte paste: Ideal for messy or textured looks. (ADH Dry in shop)
Light styling cream: Best for natural, flowy styles. (Reuzel in shop)
Pro tip: Ask your barber what they used and try to get the same or a similar product.
2. Get a Quality Comb or Brush
Using the right tool makes a big difference:
Fine-tooth comb: For precision styling (e.g., parts or slick looks).
Wide-tooth comb or fingers: For textured, casual looks.
Boar bristle brush: Helps spread natural oils and add volume.
3. Establish a Simple Morning Routine
You don’t need a long process:
Wet your hair slightly (a spray bottle helps).
Apply your product of choice.
Style and set it with a comb, brush, or fingers.
Optional: Use a blow dryer for volume and hold.
4. Maintain the Shape Between Cuts
Hair grows fast, especially around the neckline and sides.
Do a quick neckline clean-up every 1–2 weeks using clippers or a razor.
Consider a midpoint cleanup at the shop (just the sides or taper).
5. Get Regular Haircuts
Don’t wait until your hair looks totally overgrown.
A trim every 3–4 weeks keeps most styles looking fresh.
Shorter fades or skin tapers might need touch-ups every 2–3 weeks.
